Junior swimmer Sophie Stowers is making waves in the world of competitive swimming as she heads to the 2025 UIL State Swimming and Diving Championships. Since her freshman year, Stowers has built an impressive record of achievements, and she’s determined to add a State Gold Medal to her growing collection this year.
On January 31 and February 1, Stowers and her teammates from the Brazosport High School girls swim team competed in the 2025 UIL Region 3-4A Swimming and Diving Championships at the McDonald Family Aquatic Center at Lamar High School in Houston. There, Stowers successfully defended her title in the 100 Butterfly, securing her status as a standout in the region.
In addition, senior teammate Bailey Broom set a personal best in the 500 Freestyle, finishing in 6th place.
Stowers’ victory didn’t go unnoticed as she was honored with the prestigious TISCA Region 3-4A Female Athlete of the Meet Award. With this honor, Stowers will represent both Brazosport High School and the Brazosport Independent School District (BISD) at the 2025 UIL State Swimming and Diving Championships in San Antonio on February 13-14.
Brazosport High School and BISD are excited to cheer on Stowers as she takes her talent to the next level and continues to represent the district on the state stage.
Best wishes, Sophie, as you go for the gold!
