Brazosport ISD students have reason to celebrate as their hard work and dedication have paid off at the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) Teach Tomorrow Summit state competition held at Moody Gardens. The students, who competed against other aspiring educators from across Texas, brought home several awards and some will now move on to the national competition.

Students who competed at the state level from Brazosport High were:

  • Gold Award - Maritza Cardenas and Aliana Mata- Interactive Bulletin Board
  • Gold Award - Catalina Cisneros - Education Portfolio
  • Gold Award - Clifton White - Education Portfolio
  • Gold Award - Larissa Pryor - Education Portfolio
  • Gold Award - Natali Reyes - Education Portfolio

All students who participated in State from Brazosport High received Gold Awards which is the highest achievement for State Competition. Maritza and Aliana participated in a Special Edition category which is reserved for students that receive services due to learning disabilities, and they are partnered with students who assist them in completing the activity and presenting.

Students who competed at the state level from Brazoswood High were:

  • National Qualifier - Caroline Odom and Annie Luker - Interactive Bulletin Board with Focus on Middle School, Varsity Level
  • National Qualifier - Caroline Odom and Adelyn Bonnot - Children’s Literature with Pre-K Focus, Junior Varsity Level
  • National Qualifier - Rosie Rios - Children’s Literature K-3rd Focus in Spanish Varsity Level
  • National Qualifier - Rami Elyoussef and Kayde Huber - Project Visualize: Service, Varsity Level
  • National Qualifier - Chip Dobson and Leon Hudzietz - Interactive Bulletin Board with Focus on Middle School, Varsity Level
  • Gold Award - Olivia Guffey and Paris Ponce - Project Visualize: Appreciation, Junior Varsity Level
  • Liana Galvan, Zoey Hamilton and Michelle Ebey - Ethical Dilemma, Varsity Level
  • Gold Award - James Mann and Lindsey Nichols - Interactive Bulletin Board with Elementary Focus, Varsity Level
  • Gold Award - Olivia Bonnot and Katherine Odom - Children’s Literature K-3rd, Varsity Level
  • Bronze Award - James Mann and Kayleigh Johnson - Children’s Literature Pre-K, Varsity Level
  • Bronze Award - Olivia Guffey - Children’s Literature K-3rd, Junior Varsity Level
  • Gold Award - Leon Hudzietz - Teacher Created Materials with Middle School Focus, Varsity Level

Students who competed at the state level from Clute Intermediate were:

  • National Qualifier- Evangelyn Aguirre 8th Grader-Public Speaking
  • Silver Award- Jayson Torres and Jarimiah Clay-Interactive Bulletin Board-Middle School
  • Gold Award- Eliza Faltysek and Viviana Flores-Interactive Bulletin Board-Middle School
  • Bronze Award- A’Myriah Patterson- Interactive Bulletin Board- Middle School
  • Cecilia Alvarado- Children's Lit Pre-K-Middle School
  • Bronze Award-Viviana Damian- Public Speaking-Middle School

Students who placed in the top 10 in their qualifying event (only certain events move on to nationals) at state will move on and compete at the Educators Rising National Conference, scheduled to take place June 26-29,2025, in Orlando,  Florida, at the Rosen Shingle Creek.These students have proven themselves as some of the best future educators in the state, and will now have the chance to showcase their talents on a national level. These students will be competing against other top-performing future educators from across the country.

The Nine BISD students who qualified for the national level include:

  • Caroline Odom and Annie Luker - Interactive Bulletin Board with Focus on Middle School, Varsity Level
  • Caroline Odom and Adelyn Bonnot - Children’s Literature with Pre-K Focus, Junior Varsity Level
  • Rosie Rios - Children’s Literature K-3rd Focus in Spanish Varsity Level
  • Rami Elyoussef and Kayde Huber - Project Visualize: Service, Varsity Level
  • Chip Dobson and Leon Hudzietz - Interactive Bulletin Board with Focus on Middle School, Varsity Level
  • Evangelyn Aguirre-Public Speaking-Clute Intermediate -Middle School Level

Brazosport ISD Superintendent Danny Massey expressed his pride in the students' accomplishments, saying, "Our students' success at the TAFE state competition and qualification for the national level is a testament to their hard work and commitment to their future careers in education. We are proud of their accomplishments and wish them the best of luck as they compete at the national level."
