Jazz musicians from both Brazoswood and Brazosport high schools recently showcased their talents at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) All-Region Jazz Band auditions, earning top recognition across two regions.
On September 20, Brazoswood High School hosted the TMEA Region XVII All-Region Jazz Band tryouts, where 76 students from across the region competed for a place in the prestigious ensembles. Brazoswood students earned 11 of those spots, the most of any school in Region XVII. These students will join other top performers for a clinic and concert with the Region XVII Jazz Bands on November 14.
That same day, Brazosport High School hosted the TMEA Region XIII All-Region Jazz Band auditions, with approximately 100 students vying for only 20 positions. Brazosport students secured 7 of those highly coveted spots, all advancing to the next Area level, once again the most from any school in Region XIII. They will perform alongside their peers at the Region XIII clinic and concert in January. Congratulations to the following outstanding musicians!
