The Brazosport ISD Education Foundation welcomed the community to its annual fundraiser, Tailgate ’n Celebrate, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Dow Academic Center. With school spirit on full display, from jerseys and team tees to classic tailgate style, the evening brought together supporters of public education for a night of fun with a powerful purpose.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of sponsors, attendees, donors, and volunteers, the event raised $170,000 to support students and educators across the district.
Proceeds from Tailgate ’n Celebrate support the Education Foundation’s Grants for Great Ideas, which fund innovative classroom projects that expand learning opportunities. The IDEA Fund Mini Grant Program, providing quick-access funding for creative and meaningful campus initiatives. Districtwide staff appreciation efforts that recognize and celebrate the dedication of BISD educators and staff.
Through the generosity of attendees, sponsors, and donors, the event continues to strengthen programs that bring fresh ideas and meaningful experiences into BISD classrooms.
The business community once again showed strong support, with local partners contributing sponsorships and auction items while joining families, staff, and alumni for the celebration. Their participation highlights the shared commitment across the Brazosport area to invest in students and the educators who serve them.
“Events like our annual throwback prom remind us that when we come together as a community in support of education, great things happen,” said Danny Massey, Superintendent of Brazosport ISD. “Seeing our supporters proudly wearing jerseys, sharing in the fun, and investing in classroom innovation is a powerful reflection of our shared commitment to students and teachers alike. I’m grateful to everyone who made this year’s event memorable, because strong schools are built by strong communities working side by side.”
The annual fundraiser is made possible by a dedicated group of Education Foundation board members and volunteers who plan and organize the event each year. Their work ensures that community support continues to translate into tangible benefits for BISD classrooms.
