Since becoming a UIL sanctioned sport in 2022, Brazoswood Water Polo teams have established a reputation for being one of the elite programs in the state, including winning a State Championship in the first year.
Again this year, both girls and boys teams were District 12-6A Champions qualifying them for the playoffs and a possible state championship.
Since beginning their playoff competition, the Buc and Lady Buc water polo teams have claimed the Bi-District championship, Area championship, and Regional Qualifiers.
After a weekend of stiff competition at the Regional Meet, the Lady Bucs advanced to the State Tournament where they will face Southlake Carroll in the Semifinals. A victory over Southlake will advance them to the finals for a chance at the 2024 title. The State Tournament will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio, Texas. The state championship game will be played on Saturday, October 26.
