Join us in congratulating Bradley Berndt, Joshua Braun, and Trevor Kuhlman.

These scholastically gifted seniors, recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), achieved National Selection Index scores within the top 5% of the nation. This distinction places them among the elite out of 1.5 million students who entered the 2024 competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) during their junior year.

These students being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success. We are extremely proud of them as Buccaneers.

These outstanding students actively participate in numerous campus activities, showcasing not only their academic prowess but their commitment to a well-rounded education.

Commended Students

Bradley Berndt is an Officer and State Medalist for Science Olympiad, an AP Scholar and a member of the Goddard Rocketry Team. He has also had many parts in plays and musicals for the Brazoswood Theater and Brazosport Center for the Arts and Sciences. Bradley plans on majoring in Mechanical Engineering at Rice University or the University of Texas in Austin.

Joshua Braun is highly active in Science Olympiad and community service organizations. He plans to major in Chemical Engineering at the University of Texas in Austin.

Trevor Kuhlman is an AP Scholar who enjoys being a member of the Soccer, Cross Country and Track teams. He is also the Captain of the Buccaneer Band Load Crew as well as a member of the Jazz, Symphonic and Chamber bands. Trevor plans to major in Education at Trinity University to become a High School History teacher.
