CTE programs prepare students for a wide range of high-demand careers by providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge required to succeed in their chosen fields.

The CTE facilities in BISD enable our students to have real-world spaces to expand their technical knowledge and skills. Brazoswood’s state-of-the-art CTE facility opened two years ago and we are excited to announce the near completion of the cutting-edge CTE Center at Brazosport High School. The facility will fully open at the start of the 2024-2025 school year. The extensive renovation project, initiated to enhance educational opportunities for students, encompasses the construction of advanced welding and construction labs, as well as the introduction of an innovative cosmetology program.

The phased construction approach has prioritized the upgrading of existing infrastructure, transforming classrooms into state-of-the-art learning environments. Each classroom within the Brazosport CTE Center has been meticulously designed and will be equipped to serve as a hub of innovation, promoting creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning experiences. Next fall students will have access to modern workshops and industry-standard equipment across a diverse range of programs.

The Brazosport CTE Center will offer programs in various fields, including Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources; Architecture and Construction; Graphic Design & Multimedia Arts; Arts, Audio/Video Technology and Communication; Business, Marketing, and Finance; Education and Training; Health Science; Hospitality and Tourism (Culinary); Human Services (Cosmetology); Advanced Manufacturing and Machinery Mechanics (Robotics); Welding; and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Brazosport ISD has collaborated closely with industry partners to align the programs with the demands of the job market. Through a major giving campaign, generous investments from these partners have contributed to the realization of the CTE Center. The district recognizes the importance of equipping students with skills that will meet both current and future workforce needs, ensuring their success in an ever-changing professional landscape.

The support from the community has been integral to the development of the CTE Center. The community's backing of the district's bond initiatives reflects a commitment to fostering the next generation of leaders. Brazosport ISD expresses gratitude for this overwhelming support, emphasizing its crucial role in creating this exceptional facility.

The new Career and Technical Education Center at Brazosport High School is poised to set a new standard for excellence in education. By preparing students for careers that may not even exist yet, the center aims to foster a generation of skilled professionals ready to thrive in the ever-evolving job market.

All BISD's CTE programs allow students to use academic knowledge and problem-solving skills while acquiring occupationally-specific skills as part of their high school curriculum. Students enrolled in these programs can leave high school with valuable technical dual credit, industry-based certifications and licensures, participation in rèsumè-building student leadership organizations, and the ability to directly enter the workforce.

BISD is proud of its extensive CTE programs, offering over 100 career opportunities for students to explore and identify which CTE courses match their career interests. Throughout February we will be highlighting several of these programs on our CTE at BISD social media pages. As you will learn, our extensive programs provide students with a clear direction to pursue high-demand, post-secondary opportunities, whether that be a college education, joining the military, or entering the workforce. With each certification earned, students become more valuable to employers. Follow us on Facebook at CTE at BISD and click here to learn more about our CTE Program.
