BISD Parents, we are committed to enhancing the communication of your child's academic progress. With this in mind, we are excited to share a video that will help you better understand our Skill Based Report Cards for Pre-Kindergarten through Second Grade students.
Why Skill Based Report Cards? The purpose of grading in BISD is to communicate student progress on mastery of essential outcomes for the year. Skills Based report cards are different than traditional numerical grades and instead are a rating system from 1 through 3 for each skill your child is supposed to learn. This approach ensures you have specific insights into your child’s strengths and areas where they are progressing.
