During the month of February, BISD will celebrate Love the Bus Month to raise awareness and show our appreciation to school bus drivers across our district who safely transport and ensure the best start and finish to each student's day.
The Love the Bus program, founded in 2007 by the American School Bus Council, is an ongoing campaign celebrated on Valentine’s day and throughout the month of February in school districts across the country to recognize hundreds of thousands of school bus drivers who safely transport children to and from school.
“Love the Bus is a great opportunity to thank the people that protect our most precious cargo – our children – and serve as role models on the 38 school buses that transport over 1,300 BISD students to and from school each day,” says John Craig, Director of Transportation.
To help celebrate Love the Bus Month, students are encouraged to make Valentine’s Day cards to give to their bus driver. Make sure to snap a picture with your bus driver and share it with us on social media #BISDPride
