This is the image for the news article titled BISD Welding Students Take Projects to State TSA Competition in AprilBrazoswood welding students will show off their talents and skills again this April at the state Technology Students Association (TSA) Competition.

Brazoswood entered a total of six projects at the Regional TSA contest, and all six entries earned first place and will advance to state!

The group is hoping to back up their state championship from 2019 with another in 2021.

The competition this year was in a unique hybrid format combining virtual and in-person judging. The key project will be the impressive BISD Book Bus with the added skill work by Mr. Paul Plank’s Brazosport construction trade students of the bookshelves and a table made out of a reclaimed slice of a tree trunk. Other project entries include a two-sided BBQ smoker cooking trailer, a camping Quad trailer, a hibachi cart and a twin fishing chair and cooler setup that goes on the receiver hitch of a truck so you can sit in it.

Congratulations to these outstanding students and their teacher Richard Junkermeier.
