This investment will be made in two parts with $20,000 dedicated to the career and technical education (CTE) program’s technology and sustaining pathways and $7,000 donated as in-kind material for BISD’s welding programs.

With this investment, BISD can provide major technology upgrades to benefit its growing certification processes and continue sustaining and growing its course offerings and pathways. With welding testing and certifications growing each year, a material donation of this size will help assure BISD has material ready at any moment testing is requested or needed for its welding students.

“I am especially excited that Wood is helping bring young men and women into our industry. Our industry can provide an individual a successful career in fields that are both challenging and rewarding. We need to continue to reach out to our young people and explain that they should be proud to be in this industry,” said Wood Vice President J.J. Barrera.

Wood’s partnership commitment states, “For a partnership to matter and make a real difference, we can harness the power and potential that comes from truly aligning our ambitions, committing to working differently, and unlocking solutions that will deliver transformational value.”

Wood General Manager Andrew Dodge said, “Wood is excited to continue our valued partnership with BISD to help grow CTE.  With this investment, we can contribute to developing a more skilled workforce in many different capacities for years to come.  We appreciate everyone’s support and hard work to make this a successful partnership.”

BISD Resource Development Coordinator Aaron Ennis said, “We are fortunate to call Wood a partner and investor in our CTE Major Giving Campaign.  With their continued support and $20,000 investment as well as their in-kind donation, our CTE program can continue to provide skilled certified personnel directly to the workforce in many different areas.”
