Henderson comes to the district after serving as Harby Junior High’s director at Alvin ISD, where she was named “Rookie Teacher of the Year.” In her time at Harby, she worked with the Alvin East Side Choir Vertical Team to coordinate the first Junior High Region Camp in Alvin ISD. A total of fourteen students and five alternates were selected for the All-Region Choir from Harby Junior High. At the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest, Harby Choir took home a clean sweepstakes.

Zoey is a proud product of the Lamer University Honors Program, having competed in the NATS Opera competition, earning 2nd place. From Baytown, Texas, Henderson earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Choral Music Education (summa cum laude) from Lamar University. She has spent many years assisting management and planning of High School Choir Camps at Lamar University, as well as serving as Lamar University's Lead Choral Assistant and Soprano Section Leader for two years. While at Lamar, Henderson participated in the Honors College Program, received the lead role in the opera The Tenderland, placed 2nd at the Houston National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competition, and managed tours of the Lamar University Choir. She was also selected as a Scholarship Singer for Saint Andrew's Presbyterian Church Choir and remained there until she graduated.
