On Monday, June 20, 2022, at our regularly scheduled Board meeting, two Trustees, Mr. Chris Dunn and Mrs. Liz Cuellar, took their oaths of office from Chief Financial Officer Rebecca Kelley. Following the May 7, 2022, elections, both incumbents were again ready to continue to serve the students, families and educators of the Brazosport Independent School District.


Mr. Dunn originally began serving on the Board in June of 2019. Mr. Dunn has just completed his first three year term and now will serve three more years as a member of the Board of Trustees. Dunn is a product of BISD, graduating from Brazoswood High in 1980. He and his wife Sherry are the proud parents of two adult children, Cody and Haley, who are also graduates of Brazoswood High.



Mrs. Cuellar was unanimously appointed to complete an open Freeport spot on the BISD Board of Trustees in June 2018, and she was then elected to serve the next three years in June 2019. This will be Mrs. Cuellar's second full term as a member of the Board of Trustees. Liz is a graduate of BISD and has lived in the Brazosport area for more than 55 years. She and Reuben, her husband, have three daughters and two sons who are all also graduates of BISD.

After the oaths were given, the Board of Trustees went into executive session and then they returned and slated their officers for the incoming year. The Board officers are as follows:

• President - Mason Howard
• Vice President - Scott Schwertner
• Secretary - Jerry Adkins
• Assistant - Secretary Joe Rinehart
