Brazoswood Boys Water Polo Team will forever be the first team named on the Texas UIL 6A State Championship list and the Girls Water Polo Team will be the Texas UIL 6A State Runner-Up.
Both teams were District 12-6A champions this year and as is the ultimate destination of every individual and team sport, they found themselves in the championship game with the title in grasp. Both teams brought their impressive trophies home to the new Brazoswood High School trophy case.
Four teams faced off Saturday, October 29, 2022 at the Josh Davis Natatorium in San Antonio. The girls team played Northside Brandels at 10:30 AM to earn their spot in the championship game against Richmond Foster where they lost 12-6 to still claim State Runner-Up.
The boys team’s first semifinal game was against Southlake Carroll where they won a close one 16-14. At 6:00 p.m. they faced Boerne Champion and came out victorious 19-10 for the historic title.
And of course a State Championship must always be followed by a celebration parade!Watch for details of the upcoming celebration.
