Read 20

Brazosport ISD’s approach to literacy is more than just a program or initiative, it is a movement set out to help ensure that each and every third grader is reading on grade level or higher by reading for at least 20 minutes every night.

There are many components to Read 20 that involve not only teachers, but parents, district personnel, and community members at large. “We have a very supportive community that values education,” says Superintendent Danny Massey. “A key component of our literacy effort includes engaging our teaching community, families, community members, and businesses to get involved. It’s going to take the whole village to create these readers as leaders!”

Brazosport ISD believes in the ability of ALL learners, the instructional capacity of our amazing staff, and the unwavering support of our families and community! We are excited to lead this movement and look forward to developing young readers as future leaders.
