The Brazoria County Science Fair will be held February 20-22, 2020. We encourage Brazoria County students (public, private, and homeschool) in PreK - 8th grade to participate in this year's event. Science fair projects have a great deal of benefits. Most projects involve a good deal of math, and all students get an opportunity to enhance their presentation skills when they prepare their display boards. Seventh and eighth grade students practice public speaking when they discuss their projects with the judges. Preparing a science fair project is an excellent example of what education experts call active learning or inquiry. When brought to completion, the project is an amalgamation of reading, writing, spelling, grammar, math, statistics, ethics, logic, critical thinking, computer science, graphic arts, scientific methodology, self-learning of one or more technical or specialty fields, and for some, public speaking and defense in front of expert judges.
