Brazosport ISD is happy to announce that Darynda Klein will take the lead at Grady Rasco Middle School this next school year as its principal. Klein comes to BISD from Cypress Fairbanks ISD where she was the principal of Hairgrove Elementary School for the past ten years. She was named CFISD’s Elementary Principal of the Year for the 2018-2019 school year.
Ms. Klein has 27 years in education, including 14 years in administration at Hairgrove Elementary, serving as their assistant principal before moving to principal. Hairgrove is a prekindergarten through 5th grade campus with a student body of approximately 800 students. Under her principalship at Hairgrove, the school was recognized this past school year as a Gold Ribbon School for Children at Risk – Top 10, received an A rating by the Texas Education Agency, with four (4) TEA Distinctions.
Principal Klein wrote that she strives to, “Create a culture of high expectations where staff members believe in student success and do what is necessary to achieve that success with a no excuses mentality.”
BISD Superintendent Danny Massey states, “Ms. Klein brings a great deal of successful principal experience to Rasco. She is a proven leader, and she will be an outstanding asset to our students, staff, and parents.”
Klein will replace Jennifer Gonzalez who is transitioning to the position of English Language Learner Coordinator.
