Brazosport ISD and Brazoswood High School are happy to announce that Katie LeFave will be taking the director’s chair at the Buc Theatre this coming school year. LeFave has been involved with theatre for over 20 years. She has been teaching for 14 years, the last five years teaching drama at Lake Jackson Intermediate School. LeFave has also taught theatre, film studies, humanities and English literature here in Brazosport ISD as well as in Austin ISD.
“Ms. LeFave’s background in both theatre and English literature make her uniquely qualified to lead our 6A drama program, and her training is matched by her passion for preparing students to achieve at their highest level,” stated Brent Jaco, BISD Chief of Staff and Governmental Affairs.
Katie LeFave began her theatrical journey when she was in high school. LeFave commented, “I am thrilled to be returning to where theatre all started for me, here at Brazoswood High School.” She went on to say, “It is an honor to lead the very program that gave me my start.”
LeFave has had extensive experience on stage in regional theatre, in New York, as well as locally with the Brazosport Center Stages. She has had extensive work backstage and of course, as a director of numerous plays, musicals, and UIL productions. Ms. LeFave holds a BFA in Acting from Texas State University.
Katie resides in the Brazosport area where her two children attend BISD schools.
