Brazoswood's James Nimtz is set to take the lead as the new Head Boys Soccer Coach for the Buccaneers for the 2020-21 school year. Nimtz has been with Brazoswood High School since 2008 and has coached the boys soccer sub varsity teams for the past 8 seasons. While at the high school, he has also coached football, basketball and girls volleyball.
Before joining BISD, Nimtz was an instructor of physical education and health at Brazosport College, Columbia State Community College, Bowling Green State University and Indiana University. Coach Nimtz has an extensive background in nutrition, strength and conditioning.
“Coach Nimtz has been an asset to our Brazoswood coaching staff,” said Alan Weddell, BISD Athletic Director. “I am confident that he will continue to inspire the athletes under his care to achieve at the highest level on the field and in the classroom.”
“I am honored and humbled to be able to work with these great young men in a new capacity. With it being such a crazy time for all of us, my desire is that this program and this game we love can be a source of stability and growth for the players, staff and community,” said Nimtz. “I want the players to know I will always be there for them.”
James earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Kent State University and his Master of Education in Health Physical Education and Recreation from Bowling Green State University.
Coach Nimtz and his wife Sonia reside in the Brazosport area and all three of their sons are proud graduates of Brazoswood High School.
