Coach Richard Sincere will be entering his first year at Brazosport as the running backs coach, special teams coordinator, and head boys track coach. He joins the Exporter squad from Galveston Ball High, where he was the assistant head coach, offensive coordinator, and head girls track coach. Coach Travanti Downes hails from Arlington, Texas, and was a high school All State basketball player, leading her team to the State Final game. Downes went on to play for Tarleton State University in college. While there, Downes led the Lady Texans to the NCAA tournament her freshman and senior years. After graduation, Downes served as a graduate assistant coach for the Tarleton State girls basketball team, helping guide the squad from the sidelines. Coach Downes has most recently served the last two years as the girls varsity assistant basketball coach for the Brazoswood Lady Bucs.
Brazosport ISD Athletic Director Alan Weddell said. "Brazosport High School's boys track and girls basketball programs have been two of our most successful programs. We are looking forward to the continued success of these Exporter programs under the new leadership of Coach Sincere and Coach Downs."
Both coaches will be available this summer to help support Freeport Intermediate and Brazosport High School's summer strength and conditioning program.
