This year, BISD has selected Mrs. Amanda Bundick from Bess Brannen as BISD’s Elementary Assistant Principal of the Year and Mr. Herman Hebert from Brazoswood High School as BISD’s Secondary Assistant Principal of the Year.

Mrs. Bundick received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston Clear Lake, her Master's in counseling the University of Houston Victoria and her principal's certification from Lamar University. Amanda was a teacher for nine years in BISD then moved into counseling at Bess Brannen Elementary School for five years. She took the role and the responsibilities as the assistant principal three years ago. Bundick became an educator, like her father, after witnessing the dedication and “energy he poured into his students.” she said. Bundick went on to state, “I respected and admired him and his choices had a profound influence on my decision to follow in his footsteps.” Amanda is married to Darren Bundick and they have 3 children, BISD graduates Brenner & Tanner and Abbey, a sophomore at Brazoswood.

Mr. Herman Hebert became a part of BISD’s family six years ago as an Assistant Principal at Brazoswood High School. Before that, he spent ten years in the classroom as a special education teacher. Hebert received his Bachelors of Science in Health Education from Texas Southern University and his Master of Education Leadership from Lamar University. Herman’s parents were the number 1 influence on his life, because they exemplified the meaning of hard work and determination. Mr. Hebert believes that the best part of his job is when he gets to interact with the staff and students. He chose to become a teacher because wanted to help people and he believed that the best way to accomplish it was to become an educator. Mr. Hebert went on to state, “The best part of the day is when I smile and everyone smiles back (even under the mask).”

BISD is proud to have Mrs. Amanda Bundick and Mr. Herman Hebert as part of our team!
