Brazoswood welding students took their 1st place regional contest winning projects to the Technology Students Association (TSA) State competition held at the Fort Worth Convention Center and won first place “Best in State” in their class.
The Brazoswood welding team of Trey Vela, Mason Paladino, Sean Brown, Jake Basham and Jeramie Villanueva took first on their Hibachi grill cart.

Brazosport students from Mr. Plank's construction class took three projects and two placed first and received Best in State medals and the other received fourth place recognition.
Steven Alvarez won first on his end table formed from a single log and Michael Martinez, Ryan Rappa, and Steven Alvarez brought home first place on the end table created from a paper birch stump.
These students took first place out of over 100 projects in the judging hall. Mr. Junkermeier shared that his Welding Fab Club students in the last 5 years have won 20 Regional 1st place ribbons. Out of those, 17 went to the state finals and took 1st place or Best in State medals. What a remarkable tradition of excellence!
