Brazosport ISD Names 2021 Principals of the Year

This year, Laura Morris from A.P.Beutel Elementary School was selected as BISD’s Elementary Principal of the Year and Bridgette Percle from R O'Hara Lanier Middle School was named BISD’s Secondary Principal of the Year. Congratulations to both outstanding BISD campus administrators!

Laura Morris
Laura Morris, born and raised in Brazoria County, received her Bachelor's of Science Degree and Teaching Certificate from Texas A & M University in 1993. Mrs Morris earned her Master's Degree in Education Administration from Stephen F. Austin University in 1997.

Morris began her teaching and administrative career in Aldine ISD. She moved to Brazosport ISD as the Assistant Principal at Velasco Elementary in 2003, where she was selected as BISD Elementary Principal of the Year in 2011. In July of 2012, Laura was named Principal at A.P. Beutel Elementary.

Laura Morris and her husband Darrell live in Lake Jackson; their daughter Cameron is set to graduate from UTMB School of Nursing in April, and their son Zach is a freshman at Galveston College, where he is a red shirt freshman on the Galveston College Whitecaps baseball Team.


Bridgette Percle
Bridgette Percle, also a Brazoria County native, received her Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies and her Masters in Education at the University of Houston. Percle received her Principal Certification from Lamar University and was also selected and completed the Art of Leadership program at Harvard University with Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation.

Bridgette Percle has enjoyed her entire career in education with Brazosport ISD. She began as an elementary teacher at Elizabet Ney before becoming a counselor there. Mrs. Percle also served as the counselor at Lanier Middle School. She then went on to serve as the Assistant Principal at Rasco Middle School prior to becoming the principal of Lanier Middle School in 2017.

Bridgette Percle and her husband Al live in Jones Creek and have two sons, Conner and Decker. Mrs. Percle believes that “every child deserves the opportunity to learn at the highest level.”
