Congratulations to Morgann Cooper and the Brazoswood German students for placing in the top 5 at Houstonfest and qualifying for State! Houstonfest was held virtually again this year on February 5 for Regionals and February 26 for State. Participation was by Zoom and video submission. Students placing in the top 5 at Houstonfest Regionals advanced to the state competition.
This year there were around 358 students who completed from 18 different high schools in and around the Houston area. This was the first time in several years that Brazoswood High School has had a folk dance team compete. We are proud of the students, they did a fantastic job!
Additional exciting news for this group of Brazoswood Folk Dancers is their opportunity to perform at the Tomball German Heritage Festival, March 26th. They will have 3 different performance time slots throughout the day and the festival will donate $300 to the Brazoswood German program. I’m sure they would love to have any come watch them on that day.
