Although we have been very fortunate to have experienced very low COVID case numbers in recent weeks, even zero cases among staff and students the last week of November; as with other school districts, organizations and businesses, BISD has experienced an increase in COVID cases this week. We would like to help decrease the spread during this final week of school and into the holidays so that everyone stays healthy for a great start to the new year.
Please do not send your child to school this week if he/she has been directly exposed to COVID-19 or is experiencing symptoms. Here are some precautionary measures to practice:
- Clean your hands often, either with soap and water for 20 seconds or a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean frequently touched objects and surfaces daily. If someone is sick or has tested positive for COVID-19, disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
- Monitor your health daily.
- Stay home if you are sick.
Have a safe and healthy winter break!
