Two Brazosport ISD science teachers were honored as outstanding educators by the Phillips 66 Corporation. Misty Hankinson from Brazoswood High and Apollonia McMillan-Campbell from Brazosport High, both Chemistry teachers, were selected for this honor after being nominated by their campus administrators. Nominees were selected for their innovative instructional practices.
Each year Phillips honors select math and science teachers across Southern Brazoria County with a luncheon, a certificate and a $1,000 check to be used to further their classroom instruction. Both Hankinson and McMillan-Campbell were surprised and thrilled with the honor. “I was just asked to attend a luncheon with Phillips 66, and I was so honored to receive the recognition,” said Misty Hankinson.
Congratulations to these two outstanding teachers from BISD setting the standard in science education across the state!
