New Brazoswood High School Design Launch

Thanks to the successful passage of the 2019 Bond, Brazosport ISD and VLK Architects began the process of designing two new replacement campuses for Brazoswood High School in Clute and SF Austin STEM Academy in Jones Creek.
Design launch teams were created for each campus. Each team consisted of 40 teachers, students, campus leaders and community/business leaders who worked alongside district and VLK Architect staff to start the design process of the replacement schools. Over the summer, members of the committee toured newly built state-of-the-art campuses as well as Career and Technical Education (CTE) facilities in the Greater Houston area and brought back their findings and impressions to share with the group. The team held discussions and collaborations, conducted hands-on activities and presentations, ultimately coming to consensus on design features that would best serve our students and community for decades to come. The findings and decisions from these teams armed VLK Architect with an overall outline of the larger elements needed for each campus that will guide them in the design process.
