This year 20 art entries were selected by the Brazoria County Fair Judges for top awards and auction, and 12 of those art pieces belonged to Brazosport ISD art students. BISD art students took home a total of $14,600 in auction money.
Mikalah Hegefeld, Lilly Cole, and Isabela Damian were each awarded scholarships for outstanding Art Portfolios. Portfolios showcase a collection of 8-10 artworks that span their high school careers.
Students were under the direction of Emily Espeche at Brazoswood High School, and Deena Edwards at Brazosport High School.
