On February 21, 2022 the Brazosport Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the instructional calendar for the 2022-2023 school year. BISD created a local process of gathering input and feedback from campus staff, administrators, a District Educational Improvement Committee (DEIC) that includes parents, community members, business representatives, and an instructional calendar committee.
The 2022-2023 school year will begin on August 17, 2022 and end on May 25, 2023. The calendar includes two professional development days in October that coincide with the fair, and two professional days in February that coincide with Presidents Day, an exchange day that coincides with Martin Luther King Jr. Day, an exchange day in mid April following Easter, a full week for Thanksgiving, a full week off for Spring Break that coincides with Brazosport College, and more than two full weeks for Christmas break. Students will also have time off for Labor Day and Good Friday.
Other calendar highlights include:
- Two early release days for all students - December 16 and May 25
- Two early release days for high schools only - December 15 and May 24
- The calendar provides campus staff with seven contract days prior to the start of school
